'JURASSIC WORLD: DOMINION' (2022) REVIEW

Image
Critics have said the franchise has run its course, giving the latest addition to the series a low score of 30% on Rotten Tomatoes. These days, there seems to be a big difference between the critics score and the audience score for 'Jurassic World: Dominion'. I seem to side with the general public, giving the film a high score of 77 out of 100 on Rotten Tomatoes. After the release of the sequel to 'Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom' (2018), I was excited to see this film like how I was excited to see 'Fallen Kingdom' after the first film. After the endings, my immediate thought would always be "now I have to wait another 4 years to watch the next one". I only forgive the long wait so they can focus on making the dinosaurs look visually appealing and work on a good plot that is not rushed just to generate money like the 'Star Wars' sequel trilogy. Though many people have had enough with the franchise, my love for...

'THE MANDALORIAN' (2019) REVIEW

Lucasfilm, Disney Media Distribution Age Certificate:  TV-14 IMDb:   8.7/10 Rotten Tomatoes:   93/100 Cast Pedro Pascal 'Din Djarin' / 'The Mandalorian' Carl Weathers 'Greef Karga' Werner Herzog 'The Client' Omid Abtahi 'Dr. Pershing' Nick Nolte 'Kuiil' Taika Waititi 'IG-11' Gina Carano 'Cara Dune' Giancarlo Esposito 'Moff Gideon' Emily Swallow 'The Armorer' The Mandalorian Season 2 trailer dropped last week! The trailer dropped out of the blue which gave me so much anxiety. I should have been prepared but I guess dropping trailers unexpectedly is such a Lucasfilm/Disney thing to do. The trailer did not disappoint, using dialogues from the first season's finale to introduce the premise of the second season. We got to see more clips of 'The Child' with Mando so hopefully we get to see more scenes; diving into a more developed relationship between Mando and the...

'JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM' (2018) REVIEW

J.A Bayona presents a new addition to the Jurassic Park franchise with not only Sci-Fi and adventure but the inclusion of classic horror. It was quite clear what the tone of the film was going to be once Bayona was associated with Jurassic World. Like his previous work, Bayona focuses on the horror genre, making the film's tone very dark in comparison to Colin Trevarrow's Jurassic World (2015). Jurassic World marketing portrayed a family fun adventure at a dinosaur park whereas the sequel presents a dark story about the park's dinosaurs. I remember watching the original Jurassic Park (1993) on VHS every day when I was a toddler. Stephen Spielberg is a great storyteller but that was already known since Jaws, E.T and Indiana Jones. Jurassic Park was known for its use of animatronics as well as using practical effects more than digital effects / CGI. It brought the dinosaurs of Jurassic Park to life and looks so real that it really does scare you as an...
