The most widely anticipated film of the century and maybe of all time, ‘Avengers: Endgame’ (2019) takes home a number of records including ‘Highest grossing film of all time’, ‘Best visual effects’ and ‘Best action movie’ at the Critics Choice Award; not to mention the various award nominations from the Academy Awards, BAFA, the Grammys and MTV. On a budget of $356 million, making it one of the most expensive films to produce, ‘Endgame’ generates $2.798 billion at the Box Office, beating ‘Avatar’ (2009) and ‘Titanic’ (1997) which were previously held at the top 2 spots for largest Box Office hits for many years. The film had high expectations but were also pressured by the millions of fans’ expectations to live up to. Since this film is not just a film but a cinematic event experience, here's what I thought about it. This was pretty much Thanos' story; not in his perspective but every scene always linked back to his character. He was the main character; being mentioned at least once in every scene. He's not the stereotypical antagonist who wants to take over the universe but bring balance. I thought survival was the end goal for him and so if half of the universe is gone, there will be balance and survival will no longer be an issue as he has somewhat mentioned in the film. UPDATE: Recently Kevin Feige reported that half of the plant resources and animals have also been affected by Thanos' snap. Thinking about it, wouldn't it be pointless if half of the universe's resources are gone? Poverty will still exist. Also, with the large number of characters in this film, it was obvious that not all of the protagonists will get the same amount of screen time as each other. As ...
