After binge-watching Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008-20), Star Wars Rebels (2014-18) and catching up with every Marvel Disney+ series and films, these are some of my thoughts on the characters, the narratives and anything related to the series / films. Though I am a fan of the Marvel and Star Wars universe and I do appreciate the studios going above and beyond producing a lot of content for the fans, there will be a few criticisms. The most widely anticipated film of the century and maybe of all time, ‘Avengers: Endgame’ (2019) takes home a number of records including ‘Highest grossing film of all time’, ‘Best visual effects’ and ‘Best action movie’ at the Critics Choice Award; not to mention the various award nominations from the Academy Awards, BAFA, the Grammys and MTV. In my opinion, the first film was really good but I think I went in to the movie theatre without knowing much about Deadpool or Ryan Reynolds. I was expecting something like the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe). I knew that he was a comedic character and an anti-hero but I was still expecting a typical Marvel film. I did find it funny but there were many references and funny moments I did not understand when I first watched it because they were mainly about Green Lantern and the 2009's Deadpool which I did not know much about like the negative reviews it received so the jokes about Ryan's previous characters were not as humorous to me as they were to other people. Since this film is not just a film but a cinematic event experience, here's what I thought about it. This was pretty much Thanos' story; not in his perspective but every scene always linked back to his character. He was the main character; being mentioned at least once in every scene. He's not the stereotypical antagonist who wants to take over the universe but bring balance. I thought survival was the end goal for him and so if half of the universe is gone, there will be balance and survival will no longer be an issue as he has somewhat mentioned in the film. UPDATE: Recently Kevin Feige reported that half of the plant resources and animals have also been affected by Thanos' snap. Thinking about it, wouldn't it be pointless if half of the universe's resources are gone? Poverty will still exist. Also, with the large number of characters in this film, it was obvious that not all of the protagonists will get the same amount of screen time as each other. As ...
