FILM RECOMMENDATIONS: HORROR & THRILLER (2016-19)

New Line Cinema, Warner Bros. Pictures Age Certificate: 15 IMDb: 7.3/10 Rotten Tomatoes:   85/100 Plot Seven helpless and bullied children are forced to face their worst nightmares when Pennywise, a shape-shifting clown, reappears. The clown, an ancient evil that torments children before feeding on them. Review A classic thriller by Stephen King; as good as the book in terms of storytelling, Muschietti (dir.) delivers nostalgia, comedy, and horror thriller all in one. As someone who has read the book, the cast portray their respective characters to my imagination and probably better to what I expected. Each character is unique and the dilemmas they face as children allows us to sympathise with them; it opens up the discussion of the maturity and independence of children and the problems they face in an adult world (really, children are living in a world where adults run everything and children are more or less ignored). This film gives an insight of life problems ...

'AVENGERS: ENDGAME' (2019) REVIEW

Image
The most widely anticipated film of the century and maybe of all time, ‘Avengers: Endgame’ (2019) takes home a number of records including ‘Highest grossing film of all time’, ‘Best visual effects’ and ‘Best action movie’ at the Critics Choice Award; not to mention the various award nominations from the Academy Awards, BAFA, the Grammys and MTV. On a budget of $356 million, making it one of the most expensive films to produce, ‘Endgame’ generates $2.798 billion at the Box Office, beating ‘Avatar’ (2009) and ‘Titanic’ (1997) which were previously held at the top 2 spots for largest Box Office hits for many years. The film had high expectations but were also pressured by the millions of fans’ expectations to live up to. With so much to handle, the Russo Brothers (directors) managed to make the film live up to the hype that it had since the start of the Avengers Initiative. With carefully planned narrative and universally outstanding performances by our favouri...

Meanwhile, back on Earth, members of NASA and a team of international scientists work tirelessly to bring him home, while his crew mates hatch their own plan for a daring rescue mission. Trailer Full of wit and comedy behind the reality that is a rescue mission to get back an astronaut from Mars. Matt Damon portrays botanist and astronaut, Mark Watney but it wasn't just his astounding performance that shined through-out but Damon's natural charm and humour that made his character memorable.
