INSTAGRAM SHORT REVIEWS


After binge-watching Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008-20), Star Wars Rebels (2014-18) and catching up with every Marvel Disney+ series and films, these are some of my thoughts on the characters, the narratives and anything related to the series / films. Though I am a fan of the Marvel and Star Wars universe and I do appreciate the studios going above and beyond producing a lot of content for the fans, there will be a few criticisms. Mainly speaking about the MCU, it does not mean that the studio have failed but rather, they can improve in the way they tell stories from analysing the reception of already released content. As a big fan of Star Wars, I may be biased in the way I review Star Wars content compared to Marvel but that is because I think Lucasfilm have done an amazing job at presenting characters that will be loved by fans, especially me. I have a better understanding of the Star Wars universe and have been liking the expansion of it whilst watching the shows. The shows are more emotional and do a great job at developing characters that we love from the films.

A lot of focus on Marvel and Star Wars this year especially with all the Disney+ series that are coming out recently. The general consensus is that after the release 'Avengers: Endgame' (2019), the films and series have not met the same expectation as the superhero team up film whereas Star Wars is thriving with more series focusing on characters that we love like Obi-Wan Kenobi, Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Boba Fett and the Mandalorians.

'KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES' (2024) REVIEW

Planet of the Apes returns to the big screen with the film 'Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes'. It becomes apparent that the franchise is heading towards a sequel trilogy after the commercial success of the reboot series. The film was expected to be as successful as Andy Serkis' Apes films and it sure delivers - both visually and narratively. It may not be a strong comeback to the Caesar trilogy however the film manages to portray its characters in the same way and the storyline flows through. Andy Serkis' performance as the character 'Caesar' was on an Academy Award level of acting, that newcomer Owen Teague's portrayal of new lead protagonist 'Noa' was not expected to do any better. You could not name anyone else who could portray Caesar or any other ape better than Andy Serkis.
