TOP 10 FAVOURITE K-POP MUSIC VIDEOS (SMTOWN, DAY6, DREAMCATCHER ETC.)

Image
My top 10 favourite KPOP music videos. A lot will be from SM entertainment, I personally think they produce the best KPOP videos of all time. This is essentially, a list of my favourite groups as well... I don't think I invest myself in any other groups apart from the following, nor do I listen to any other group: 1. EXO - CALL ME BABY (2015) Album: Exodus This is the first music video that comes to mind when I think about my favourite songs and music videos. Even though it looked like it was filmed in a car park, I love the transitions and the way the production team effortlessly made every member look great. One of my favourite eras from EXO. Weirdly enough, I found out that there was CGI for a scene that you wouldn't think nor expect to have CGI but some of the set at the 0.50 mark was not real. 2. NCT U - THE 7TH SENSE (2016) Album: The 7th Sense (Single) I was excited for this music video as I was actually following SMRookies for a while before their debut ...

TOP 10 FAVOURITE J-POP MUSIC VIDEOS (ONE OK ROCK & AAA)

Image
This will seem like a biased list of music videos from Japan because it is... consisting of groups like AAA and ONE OK ROCK, so really it is my Top 10 music videos from my favourite J-POP groups, sprinkled with J-POP music videos produced by Korean artists. We all know that Korea is popular for their music videos to be of high budget and also their movie-like productions. These music videos have made it to the list purely based on the visuals alone rather than the music even though we know how musically talented these artists are, we will just be looking at the production work including set designs and themes. 1. AAA - DEJA VU (2018) Album: Color A Life AAA are known for their bright coloured sets which match their innocent and lively music so this is probably one of my favourite sets from an AAA music video since it is so different from their regular videos. The gloomy tone mixed with neon-coloured flares brings out the dark aesthetics and gives off futuristic cit...

FILM RECOMMENDATIONS: DRAMA (2007-19)

Image
Regency Enterprises, Film4 Productions, Fox Searchlight Pictures Age Certificate: 15 IMDb: 8.1/10 Rotten Tomatoes: 95/100 Plot Solomon Northup, a free African-American, is promised a fortnightly job by Brown and Hamilton. However, after arriving in Washington DC, he realises that he has been sold into slavery. Review I watched this film for the BFI Film Academy and was astonished from beginning till end. The first 15 minutes had so much depth that it took an hour analysing the mise-en-scene, the editing, the narrative etc. A truly emotional story with an amazing cast; especially Chiwetel Ejiofor, the main lead. This story captures the true essence of what it was like for the victims of slavery in 1853, giving us the view of how the black community were treated during the time. Films are made for our knowledge and understanding; this film does more than just portray the lives of black people; it brings awareness to people of different race. My rating: 8.5/10 ...

FILM RECOMMENDATIONS: SUPERHERO (1978-2018)

Warner Bros. Pictures Age Certificate: 12 IMDb: 7.5/10 Rotten Tomatoes: 71/100 Plot The Dark Knight of Gotham City begins his war on crime with his first major enemy being Jack Napier, a criminal who becomes the clownishly homicidal Joker. Review One of the best superhero films of the decade; when it was first announced that Michael Keaton will play the dark crusader, the audience were not convinced that a comedian could portray a dark vigilante such as Batman. Yet, Keaton steps in the role of Batman, regardless of the audience's initial response to him, and delivers one of the best Batman performances in film history. But what gave the film its positive reviews was Jack Nicholson who took on the role of the iconic villain, the Joker. Nicholson is considered one the best actors of our generation, coming from the film 'The Shining (1980)', it was already evident that Nicholson was fit to play another villain such as the Joker. This film was the reason why I lo...
